Fortnightly Viva!, Grand Prix in Press Cover Page of the Year ¶ Publipress 2000 contest

In the Polish press market, magazines with dominating west-European (esp. German) shares (e.g. æH. Bauerê, æAxel Springerê, æJ+G Gruner und Jahr Publishing Housesê) have the leading position. Out of many leading Polish publishing houses with entirely Polish capital, æProszynski i Spolkaê and æAgoraê play a major role in the Polish press market. The 14 biggest magazine publishers publish over 100 titles which are most often read, and with a total single circulation of 30 mill copies. Importantly, most of these magazines are in Polish or they are Polish equivalents of west-European magazines.
The following tables present weeklies, fortnightlies and monthlies of national range and of the highest circulation. They are published by the 14 biggest publishers of the Polish press market. In the leading national weeklies, there are as many as 15 tv-guides. Their total single circulation exceeds 10 mill copies. Among these magazines there are several leading German magazines (published by German publishers mentioned above) such as Pani Domu, Zycie na Goraco, Tina, and also Chwila dla Ciebie, Bravo or Przyjaciolka. These magazines are addressed to girls and women. Among these leading titles there are also two opinion weeklies ¶ Wprost i Polityka. The variety of magazine types is even greater among fortnightlies and monthlies. Beside magazines for women and girls (such as ælife styleê), e.g. Claudia, Olivia, Twoj Styl, there are also hobby magazines (computer, building, interior design, motor, garden, cooking, etc.), children and youth magazines (computer games, cartoons, etc.), and magazines for men (erotica), e.g. CKM, Playboy, and Catholic magazines either opinion or social-religious formation, e.g. Niedziela i Gosc Niedzielny. Among the monthlies, there are two magazines published by Jehovaês witnesses. Each of them has a circulation of 400.000 copies.
