Mass communication & journalism periodicals

Zeszyty Prasoznawcze is the leading periodical which deals with media issues in Poland. ZP, which is issued by Press Research Center of the Jagiellonian University, has been published since 1957. It is the oldest scientific periodical in Poland devoted to social, psychological, political, linguistic, legal, economic, technological, and professional aspects of mass communication. Apart from ZP, there is another periodical entitled Rocznik Historii Prasy Polskiej which is published in Cracow and entirely devoted to the history of the Polish media. The Institute of Journalism of the Warsaw University started issuing its own periodical ¶ Studia Medioznawcze in 2001. The problems connected with the modern media (especially advertising, marketing, public relations, and economic issues of the press market) are covered in the monthly Press.

Advertisers and media planners can be helped by reports which are printed in the fortnightly Media i Marketing (which is a specialised periodical published by VFP Communications Ltd. in Warsaw). Another important periodical devoted to communication and advertising issues is AIDA Media.

Wizja Publiczna published by the Training Center of Television Academy (Osrodek Szkolenia Akademia Telewizyjna), is a periodical entirely devoted to television. It includes comments on current air time, organisational issues,  ethical problems and reviews on Polish TV productions. The periodical also includes linguistic analysis of the TV language, and some TV ratings. Tele@top and Biuletyn Informacyjny KRRiT are other important titles devoted to the audiovisual media issues.

The Association of Polish Journalists publishes its own monthly Forum Dziennikarzy. It is mainly devoted to current problems which are of great interest to journalists of all media.
